- Maintains accurate inventory of medications at the beginning and end of each shift. Ensures accurate distribution of medications to all residents according to the 5 rights. - Gives guidance and direction to auxiliary staff. Participates in report meetings at the beginning and end of each shift. Communicates with residents, guardians, and family members on the current condition and needs of residents in accordance with regulations and standards of practice. Provides teaching and training to residents and families as needed.
- Ensures that preventative measures are in place such as: specialty mattresses, foam boots, weekly skin checks, turning/repositioning schedules, toileting schedules, and cushions in all wheelchairs. Follows up on reports of rashes, open areas, edema, blisters, skin tears, or bleeding.
- Responds promptly to alarms. Ensures that restraint alternatives are in place/activated including: personal alarms, cushion alarms, wheelchair belts, tumble mats, alarm mats, bolstered beds, hip protectors.
- Provides and ensure quality end of life care. Uses comfort basket to meet resident and family needs. Ensures hygiene, comfort, and spiritual needs are met. Treats pain/restlessness. Offers family courtesy meal trays and other amenities. Demonstrates compliance with post-mortem care procedures. Participates in departure ceremony
- Works in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.
- May perform point of care testing according to policies and procedures.

Job Description:
As the Certified Nursing Assistant, you’ll perform assigned duties of resident care, activities of daily living, and related tasks under the direct supervision of a nurse and nurse manager. You will promote maximum independence and comfort for each resident by providing individualized care in collaboration with co-workers, residents, and families. Your other duties will include but are not limited to:
- Report promptly for duty, checking in with the nurse at shift start and end.

- - Follow shower schedule for residents, reporting deviations to team leader.
- - Assist with feeding residents and document food consumption.
- - Account for resident belongings at the end of shift and report any missing items.
- - Position residents properly using comfort and safety devices as per the care plan.
- - Maintain cleanliness and safety of resident rooms.
- - Assist with resident transportation and involvement in activities.
- - Answer call lights promptly, attending to resident concerns courteously.
- - Respect resident decisions, informing them of care/services before starting work. Accurately document care provided to residents.
- - Practice standard precautions and report unsafe equipment to the team leader.
- - Assist with admissions, discharges, and post-mortem care.
- - Flexibly respond to changing situations to meet resident needs.
- - Complete all required training and professional development.
- - Perform other duties as assigned.
