Nucleus Healthcare is seeking a CRNA for a 13-week contract assignment at a leading academic health system in Camden, New Jersey.
 
This health system provides access to primary, specialty, tertiary, and urgent care, all within one complete health system. Our client is a Level I trauma center, and is consistently recognized for its quality, safety, and exceptional patient care.

Job Description:
  • Administers anesthesia under clinical supervision of staff anesthesiologists. Selects, obtains and/or administers the anesthetics, adjuvant drugs, accessory drugs, and fluids necessary to manage the anesthetic, to maintain the patient's physiologic homeostasis, and to correct abnormal responses to the anesthesia or surgery. Requests appropriate consultation for abnormal patients' responses to anesthesia or to any adjunctive medication or other form of therapy.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to provide care appropriate to the neonatal, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric population. This requires the ability to obtain and interpret information to identify age-specific patient needs, and to provide the care needed.
  • Performs clinical teaching to nurse anesthesia students, medical students, and residents.
  • Demonstrates the knowledge to monitor and manage patients under regional, general or MAC anesthesia. May administer epidural, spinal, and Bier block anesthesia under the direct supervision of an anesthesiologist.
  • Responds to emergency situations by providing airway management, administration of emergency fluids and drugs, and using basic or advanced cardiac life support techniques, as requested by the physician.
  • Accurately assesses airway and plans for anticipated difficulties. Establishes airway utilizing methods which avoids emergent untoward events.
  • Conducts a thorough review of patient's charts to include history and physical, diagnostic testing, and a current physical assessment. Implements, with the Anesthesiologist, the anesthesia plan that has been discussed with the Anesthesiologist.
  • Selects, applies, and or inserts appropriate noninvasive and invasive modalities for continuous evaluation of the patient's physical status.
  • Demonstrates compliance with departmental policies and procedures and mandatory education requirements including but not limited to safety, infection control, attendance and dress code.

Additional Qualifications

  • Valid State of New Jersey license as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and or PALS certifications.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills. Clinical flexibility. Ability to work in a team model.
  • Board eligible or Board certified as a Registered Nurse Anesthetist.
