Location: Atlantic City, New Jersey 
Pay: $68,000-103,000


Job Description:


The Lab Technologist is responsible for performing laboratory testing procedures and interpreting clinical results in accordance with established guidelines, ensuring that all quality standards are consistently met.
  • Conduct laboratory tests in compliance with departmental standards and procedures. 
  • Review and verify results to ensure accuracy, validity, and compliance with quality control measures. 
  • Interpret clinical results and communicate them to relevant medical staff.
  • Perform specimen procurement and handling following established procedures.
  • Operate laboratory instruments with accuracy and conduct routine maintenance.
  • Perform and document quality control procedures and participate in proficiency testing according to established guidelines. 
  • Work with the laboratory supervisor or manager to resolve any quality control, patient, or procedural issues, and recommend improvements to enhance laboratory operations.
  • Monitor laboratory inventory, ensuring necessary supplies are available and properly stored. 
  • Assist with operational tasks as needed to maintain laboratory efficiency, including assisting in the evaluation of new equipment and instrumentation.

Additional Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in medical technology or a related field, and completion of an accredited medical technology program.
  • Meets FDA qualifications for CLIA standards for all laboratory and high-complexity testing.
  • MT/MLS ASCP certification eligibility or equivalent required
  • Previous laboratory experience is preferred but not required.
  • Proficiency in clinical laboratory applications and equipment operation is an advantage.
