Job Title: Lab Assistant/PhlebotomistPay:
Shift Information:  20 hours a week.  M-F 5A-9A (rotating weekends and holidays)
Location: Atlantic City, NJ 



Pay: $16.64-23.30 per hour 



Job Description: 



The Lab Assistant plays a key role in supporting the smooth operations of the laboratory by assisting with specimen collection, handling, and preparation for testing. This position ensures that all specimens are accurately verified, labeled, and transported according to departmental standards. 
  • Assist with the collection, labeling, and handling of specimens for laboratory testing.  
  • Ensure all specimens are accurately verified and prepared according to established protocols. 
  • Safely transport specimens to the appropriate areas of the lab, ensuring proper handling to maintain specimen integrity. 
  • Prepare slides as needed for laboratory testing and maintain necessary supplies for smooth laboratory operations. 
  • Perform phlebotomy tasks, including the collection of blood samples, adhering to established procedures to ensure patient safety and comfort. 
  • Provide quality customer service to patients and medical staff.  
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment, participating in performance improvement efforts. 
 
Qualifications: 



  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in biology or a related field is strongly preferred for histology and cytology positions. 
  • ASCP/phlebotomy certification or registry eligibility preferred 
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required  
  • Prior experience in a clinical laboratory setting is preferred but not required.
